Foster House

Being from Pittsburgh and growing up with the Primanti Brothers sandwich it seems that you always want to measure the next version of this sandwich up against the original.  There are many imitators in and around the Pittsburgh region, but few that are able to match the original.  There is one place that I found that exceeded all expectations and if it had the history of Primanti Brothers we might all be talking about the Foster House as the sandwich of the area.

Foster House is in Belle Vernon which is south of Pittsburgh.  This place from the outside looks like a dive bar, and a dive bar that you don't want to be caught in.  The door doesn't close all the way and every table and chair wobbles, but they can do one thing and that is make one of the best sandwiches in south west PA.  The sandwich is very smiler to the Primanti Brothers sandwich, but this sandwich has a mayonnaise based coleslaw which makes this sandwich more rich and creamy.  When you come here the sandwich you want to order is any of the "King" sandwiches.  If you every find your way south of Pittsburgh and want a great meal head to the Foster House.
